Charity Polo Classic raises $41,000 for the CCC!

April 24, 2013 in general, news from us

In only its second year, the Reeves Charity Polo Classic has already made its mark as one of the finest must-attend events in Tampa Bay.

This year's event was emceed by the beautiful Lauren Thompson – model and host of TV's Golf Channel – and also featured celebrity player John Walsh, highly respected front man of TV's America's Most Wanted.

Attendance was well over 800 people, up from 500 in its inaugural year, and with a plethora of fine auction items, fun raffles, breathtakingly patriotic opening ceremonies and fine polo matches, this was definitely one not to miss.

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard on the polo committee, players, Reeves Import Motorcars, all of the sponsors, DI Polo Grounds, Lauren Thompson, John Walsh and everyone who attended – together you have earned more than $40,000 to help the Children's Cancer Center continue to accomplish its mission in serving families across Tampa Bay who are desperately battling childhood cancer or chronic blood disorders.

Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts donates $4759

April 5, 2013 in general, news from us

For several years, Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts has been encouraging the appreciation of the arts in youth through their Art Collectors in Training program. This program focuses on fostering and developing future art patrons with an emphasis on fun!

The ACT program was developed for children between the ages of 6 and 14 as an opportunity for kids to view and purchase a piece of art on exhibit from participating artists of the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts. Works of art were sold at a nominal amount of $5 or $10 and the children shopped in a “kids only” shopping zone. In addition, each artwork was labeled with the artist and the artist’s booth location so that the child and their parents would have the opportunity to meet with the artist face to face!

Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts is dedicated to the strengthening of the foundation of the arts through youth in our community and with outreach support to a local non-profit organization. This year, they proudly donated 100% of all proceeds from the ACT program to the Children’s Cancer Center.

Gianna’s Birthday FUNdraiser!

March 11, 2013 in general, news from us

For the second year in a row, young philanthropist Gianna leveraged her birthday party to raise funds for the Children's Cancer Center!

A year ago, Gianna had heard that a fellow student in her school, Trinity School For Children, was battling childhood cancer and she wanted to do something to help.

Gianna asks that in lieu of presents, all guests make a donation to the Children's Cancer Center.

This year she raised $610, making her two year total nearly $1400!!!

Gianna is a wonderful role model and we thank her – and all her birtdhay guests – for caring so much for their fellow students and our families!
