Charity Polo Classic raises $41,000 for the CCC!

April 24, 2013 in general, news from us

In only its second year, the Reeves Charity Polo Classic has already made its mark as one of the finest must-attend events in Tampa Bay.

This year's event was emceed by the beautiful Lauren Thompson – model and host of TV's Golf Channel – and also featured celebrity player John Walsh, highly respected front man of TV's America's Most Wanted.

Attendance was well over 800 people, up from 500 in its inaugural year, and with a plethora of fine auction items, fun raffles, breathtakingly patriotic opening ceremonies and fine polo matches, this was definitely one not to miss.

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard on the polo committee, players, Reeves Import Motorcars, all of the sponsors, DI Polo Grounds, Lauren Thompson, John Walsh and everyone who attended – together you have earned more than $40,000 to help the Children's Cancer Center continue to accomplish its mission in serving families across Tampa Bay who are desperately battling childhood cancer or chronic blood disorders.

Date: 2013-06-15
Start Time: 11:00am
End Time: 3:00pm

Description:

Have you ever felt like plunging into a gigantic pool of gelatin?

Come on, we know you have – and if you really haven’t, then you’d probably love to see some other people do it, wouldn’t you?!

How about some famous people plunging into gelatin — like some Politicians? Sports Stars? What about your favorite Tampa Bay weatherman… or an icon in local business!

Not only can you see them do it – - you can join them and do it too!

HOW IT WORKS:
1- INDIVIDUAL or TEAM?
You can register as an INDIVIDUAL and take the gelatin plunge by yourself, or if you need moral support, you can register as a cool TEAM and take the plunge with a group of friends.

2- Just CLICK HERE TO REGISTER & CREATE YOUR FREE FUNDRAISER page! It takes just one minute. We promise! And once you register, your details will become part of THE LEADERBOARD (bottom of this page)

3- Each Gelatin Plunger (participant) must raise $500 in order to take the plunge on June 15th. (So a team of 5 must EACH raise $500, etc.)

4- But wait! There's more! Why pay the $500 yourself – instead, solicit pledges to meet or exceed your $500 goal. You have like a bajillion facebook friends, and twitter followers, right? Now's the time to put that social network to social good! Ask everyone you know to sponsor you by donating just a few bucks. After all, who wouldn't pay to see you plunge into a pool of blue gelatin? You'll be amazed how quickly your coffers fill to meet the $500 plunge buy-in!

5- Once you've raised at least $500, you're golden! We'll see you at the event! Join us at Ribit's Bar-B-Que on Saturday, June 15th. Be sure your swimsuit is on and your friends' cameras are at the ready, 'cuz this is gonna be a blast!

Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts donates $4759

April 5, 2013 in general, news from us

For several years, Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts has been encouraging the appreciation of the arts in youth through their Art Collectors in Training program. This program focuses on fostering and developing future art patrons with an emphasis on fun!

The ACT program was developed for children between the ages of 6 and 14 as an opportunity for kids to view and purchase a piece of art on exhibit from participating artists of the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts. Works of art were sold at a nominal amount of $5 or $10 and the children shopped in a “kids only” shopping zone. In addition, each artwork was labeled with the artist and the artist’s booth location so that the child and their parents would have the opportunity to meet with the artist face to face!

Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts is dedicated to the strengthening of the foundation of the arts through youth in our community and with outreach support to a local non-profit organization. This year, they proudly donated 100% of all proceeds from the ACT program to the Children’s Cancer Center.
